Top-notch Piedmont producer creates an intense Barbera from low-yielding vineyards.
|
Release Notes:
The robust and straightforward Barbera is appreciated throughout Piedmont for producing flavorful and approachable wines. Giardin is no exception. This is an elegant, modern style Barbera produced from vineyards with low yields. The wine was aged in barrels for 12 months and has great concentration.
Tasting Notes:
The wine has a ruby color that is so dark it is almost opaque. The nose is greeted by a bouquet of spices, flowers, and fruits, especially ripe strawberries, blueberries and plums. This is a very concentrated and full-bodied wine, with delicious soft tannins leading to a great finish of fruit with a hint of vanilla from the oak. This very pleasant wine goes well with barbecues, pasta, cheese, and meats with strong, flavorful sauces. Due to its excellent quality, it can keep for 5 to 7 years.
