Release Notes:
The grapes were picked in mid-October and were carefully graded to ensure quality. The 2005 Valgrande was then aged in large Slovenian oak casks for 24 months before bottling.
Tasting Notes:
Very soft and velvety texture. Aromas of chocolate and sweet fruit. Medium-bodied with delicious layers of fruit, chocolate and cacao. Very smooth tannins and a good finish on fruit - delicious! Can age for 5 to 10 more years. Elegance is the hallmark of this wine, but it still has the body to accompany roasts, meats, veal, and cheeses very effectively. A great, soft Barbaresco.
