Release Notes:
This wine is made from a selection of the estate’s best grapes; after being hand-picked, the grapes are carefully examined to ensure quality. After traditional Chianti vinification, the wine is aged in French oak barriques for 18 months, followed by another year of aging in the bottle. The resulting wine is rich and complex with great fruit and structure – everything you’d expect from a top Chianti Classico.
Tasting Notes:
A dark garnet colored wine with a lush, expressive nose of herbs, garrigue, spice and plum. A very dry wine with concentrated wild berry, plum, chocolate and sweet tobacco flavors. This complex wine has medium tannins leading up to a balanced finish on fruit. Perfect for red meat and game dishes, this wine will also complement pasta with red sauce and fine ripe cheeses. Can age – drink now to 2014.
