Chassagne-Montrachet Maison Bader-Mimeur 2002		France
A rich wine from Château de Chassagne Montrachet’s Clos du Château vineyard. Matured in oak for 10 months. Brilliant terroir expression.

Located in the southern part of the Côte d’Or, Chassagne-Montrachet offers fuller-bodied wines than its cousin Puligny-Montrachet. The vines grow in a mixture of clay, sand and chalk soils, and their grapes are hand-harvested. The juice is fermented in French oak barrels (20% new) and then matures for 10 months in oak before bottling.

Tasting Notes:

A golden straw color. A nice bouquet of almond, honey and white flowers in the nose. The palate confirms this complexity with floral and vanilla flavors leading to a refreshingly round and clean finish. Drink now to 2010 with grilled chicken, Caesar salad, white fish, crab cakes, roasted poultry or lobster.
