Release Notes:
Beaujolais is the perfect red wine for the dog days of summer. Nowhere else in the world is the Gamay grape capable of producing such memorable wines. Basty's Beaujolais comes from Lantignié is one of the best communes in Beaujolais. Château du Basty’s vines are, on average, 30 years old and grow in granitic soils that yield Gamay grapes with both fruitiness and spice. Beaujolais is perfect alone or with lighter summer fare, sandwiches, and grilled foods; it can even be served chilled or with an ice cube in each glass. Tasting Notes:This wine has a bright violet color and a floral and fruity nose that is full of red berries, cherries and spice. In the mouth, it is very soft and smooth with full-bodied red fruit, jam, and spice flavors leading to a balanced finish on fruit. This gentle wine is ideal for cold cuts, full-bodied fish (salmon and swordfish), white meats and barbecue. Can be served chilled.
