Cuvée Tradition is one of the L'Ermitage estate’s best wines. Grown in a vineyard with pebbly soil deposited there by the nearby river, the grapes for this blend are composed of Grenache (40%), Syrah (40%), and Mourvèdre (20%) from low-yielding 25-year-old vines. The wine is aged nine months in oak casks before bottling. A great summer and fall wine that is perfect for picnics and barbecues.

Tasting Notes:

A garnet colored wine with an attractive nose of blueberries, violets, vanilla and cinnamon. Cranberry, cherry, and plum fruit flavors abound with a hint of minerality and spice before the fleshy Syrah finish. A very smooth wine with soft tannins. Pairs well with grilled meats, cold cuts, sausages, strong cheeses or as an aperitif. Drink now to 2009.
