A new wine from critically acclaimed Rhône producer, Robert Charavin. This rich red from the Cairanne region of the Rhône has a lot to offer at a steep discount to his very popular Rasteau Prestige.

Release Notes:
Cairanne is the other AOC Côtes du Rhone from Domaine des Coteaux des Travers – a blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (10%) and Mourvèdre (30%) made from old vines (as old as 60 years). Cairanne’s mixture of sand clay and stone soils, and the Rhône’s warm climate produce powerful, aromatic, full-bodied wines. This wine spent 8 months in oak.
The village of Cairanne lies in the Côtes du Rhône, but is still little known in America... but that should soon change. This small, hillside village, which used to be a fortified settlement of the Kinghts Templar, lies in the heart of the southern Rhône Valley near Gigondas, Rasteau and Vacqueyras. Its red Grenache and Syrah
wines can rival those of its more famous neighbors, except they sell for half the price!
Tasting Notes:
This exquisite Cairanne is a rich, full-bodied blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from old vines. It features a dark garnet color with a cherry, leather and currant nose. In the mouth, dark cherry and berry
fruit flavors meld with anise, pepper, and clove notes before a big powerful finish. Enjoy now to 2016 with duck, roast beef, or lamb ragout.
